Steps to update to Kodi 17.6 from Kodi itself
You can perform this process quite easily if you have already installed any version of Kodi on your system. If you have not installed the Kodi software on Fire TV yet, then move forward to check the installation steps.
Install Kodi android installer
This is an amazing plug-in which lets you upgrade to any version of Kodi from 15 onwards. You are not required to clean up the previous version after installing the latest one. This will be done automatically.
- Click on ‘Kodi’ Add-on menu.
- Now, go to Add-on Browser top menu from the box icon given on the top.
- Select ‘Install from repository’ option.
- Select Official Kodi repository. If you have already installed it, then there is no need to open it manually.
- Open Program add-ons directory after step 4 and check for Kodi from the android installer.
- Click on ‘Install’ option.
- You will find Kodi displayed under installed option.
- Go to Kodi Add-ons then to Program Add-ons.
Upgrade to Kodi 17.6 with Kodi android installer
You can install Kodi android installer as easily other apps on an Android device. The steps to install the update with Kodi android installer are mentioned below:
- Launch Kodi android installer, then select Releases. Now, feel free to click on the link which says ‘Update to next’ version. You may find it difficult to initiate as your whole UI will get changed after this.
- Click ‘Arm Kodi’ release. If you are using Amazon fire 2nd generation or higher, then this is recommended for you.
- Select right version which you want to install on your device. Select Kodi 17.6.
- You need to have 82.7 MB space available in the storage. The Kodi 17.6 will take this much of space on your disk.
- Once the downloading gets finished, you will notice a dialog box on the screen. This box is related to update. If you want to continue update, then you will be prompted to save your data prior installation.
- There is no need to take any special permissions for installation of Kodi 17.6.
- If you want to view your permissions, then click on it and select Install.
- End the process by simply clicking on ‘End now’.
- Open your Kodi 17.6 installed version.
